The
City of Greater Geelong is inviting community feedback on the proposed sale of
land across six sites located throughout the municipality.
The
sites under consideration are:
- 59 Bacchus Marsh Road, Corio
- 48-58 Barton Street, Bell Park
- 2-14 Rollins Road, Bell Post Hill
- 5A Dean Street, Belmont
- 21-25 Oakden Road, Drysdale
- 36 Dudley Parade, St Leonards
These
properties have been identified as surplus to Council’s operational needs,
meaning they are not required for current or future service delivery.
In
many cases the land is underutilised or vacant and continuing to hold and
maintain these sites incurs costs to ratepayers without delivering community
benefit.
Mayor
Stretch Kontelj OAM
We
want to ensure the community has a voice in how Council-managed land is used or
repurposed.
By
reviewing underutilised sites, we can better focus resources on maintaining and
improving the spaces that are actively used and valued by the community.
Councillor
Andrew Katos, Chair of the City Planning portfolio
Hearing
from the community helps us make informed decisions that respect local
priorities and contribute to a well-planned future.
Community
members can view detailed information about each site and make a submission by
visiting: yoursay.geelongaustralia.com.au
Submissions
are open from Monday 23 June and must be received by 5:00pm Sunday 20
July 2025.
Alternatively,
written submissions can be sent to:

process. Please note: the City is not accepting purchase or development offers
at this stage.
