An owner who is proposing building work has legal obligations to protect adjoining properties from potential damage resulting from any building work.
Your appointed building surveyor will determine if and when protection works are required when assessing your building permit application.
If you are required to carry out protection work, you must serve a notice to the adjoining property owner and provide details about the proposed protection work. This notice is generally supplied by your building surveyor.
You may wish to obtain the contact information of the adjoining property owner to ensure the protection notice and any relevant documentation is delivered correctly and in line with your legislative obligations as a property owner.
