Apply for a building information certificate

A Building Information Certificate is a legal document that provides specific information relating to your property.
Subject to Regulation 51 of the Building Regulations (2018), there are three different types of certificates.

What is included in the different Certificate types?

Regulation 51.1 Certificate (Building Permit Details)

  • Building Permit, Occupancy and/or Final Certificate Details
  • Building Notice and/or Order Details

Regulation 51.2 Certificate (Designated Special Areas)

  • Land Liable to Flooding
  • Land Subject to Termites
  • Land Subject to Snowfall
  • Land with a specified BAL Level

Regulation 51.3 Certificate (Inspection Details)

  • Mandatory Inspection approval dates

How do I apply?

Step 1 - Submit your application

Step 2 - Pay your invoice

  • You will receive an invoice for the outstanding application fee which is charged per regulation/certificate type.

Step 3 - Receive your certificate

  • Following payment receipt, your certificate will be sent to you electronically within five business days for standard requests or within 24 business hours for fast-tracked requests.
