The Government Building Levy is a charge on all applications for Building Permit where the value of works exceeds $10,000.
You can calculate how much the levy will be by multiplying the cost of your project by 0.128. This means, for every $1,000 you would pay $1.28.
The money generated is used to fund the Building Control, the Domestic Dispute Resolution System, and for certain permits cladding rectification works.
