The City has made facilities
more accessible with features like accessible leisure centres, beach matting,
beach wheelchairs, and the Liberty Swing at Eastern Park
Circuit.
Accessibility
at our Leisure Centres
Our goal is to ensure people with disabilities have full access
to our facilities and services. We are committed to an inclusive environment
that meets everyone's unique needs.

Beach
access
Beach matting
This provides a path of easy access to the water’s edge for
people who have mobility limitations or use mobility aids.
We have installed rubber beach matting to provide a safe pathway
from Eastern Beach car park and footpath to the water’s edge at the outdoor
swimming enclosure.
The beach pathway provides easier access across the soft sand to
help people who experience mobility challenges and parents with prams to get
closer to the water.
Beach wheelchairs (Mobi-chair)
There is a beach wheelchair available for use in summer at
the Geelong Waterfront, 95 Eastern Beach Road Geelong and is free of charge to
people with limited mobility.
The chair has
large tyres suitable for all terrain access and floating armrests to give
users the feeling of floating in the water.
The beach wheelchair will be available late 2025 when lifesaving patrol resumes.
