The City has prepared the draft Lara Heritage Review.  The project involves a detailed assessment of properties within Lara, Anakie and parts of Lovely Banks previously identified as having heritage significance through the Geelong Outer Areas Heritage Study.

The Review recommends applying Heritage Overlays to conserve and enhance buildings of heritage significance.

The document comprises three volumes:
  • Volume 1 - Lara Heritage Review Report;
  • Volume 2 – Thematic History; and
  • Volume 3 – Individual property citations.

Prior to Council finalising the draft document we are seeking public comment on the content and findings of the review. All submissions will be considered, with a report being prepared for Council identifying any changes to the study before adoption and the potential progression of a formal planning scheme amendment.

If you wish to lodge a written submission they should be addressed to:

Or alternatively submissions can be sent via email

All written submissions should be received by 19 July 2013.
