Waste Disposal Sites - Residential

We have two Resource and Recovery sites located at Drysdale and North Geelong.

The Resource Recovery Centres are drop off points for excess domestic waste, recycling computer equipment and white goods items.

Why we do this

To reduce contamination in household waste bins and to provide residents with a site to take large items for reuse or recycling.

What you can expect

Residents can find out:

  • What items can be disposed of at the Resource Recovery Centres?
  • What fees are charged?
  • The contact details and business hours for each Centre?
  • What items can be purchased?
  • Other ways in which to dispose of unwanted goods or excess household waste.

Common questions

Question
Miniskip Bins - Do you hire them out?
We do not hire out rubbish removal bins.

When you have a lot of rubbish to remove and you need a bin skip you will need to contact bin hire companies to find the best hire deal to suit your needs.

If you wish to place a bin or miniskip on our land, you or the company you hire the bin from will need to take out a permit to place it there.

Current fees are $45.00 per week and whoever is taking out the permit must supply evidence that they have $10 million public liability insurance.

Bins placed on private property do not require a permit.

Infringements may be issued if a bin is detected on Council Land without a permit.
