Heritage Advisory Service

If your property has a heritage overlay and you are looking to do buildings and works, you may like to take advantage of our Heritage Advisory Service.

By booking a pre-application meeting with our Heritage Advisor and a Town Planner prior to lodging your permit application, our Heritage Advisor may be able to provide advice on conservation works and proposed changes to properties subject to a Heritage Overlay.

We provide this service to assist owners with heritage permit applications.

This is particularly useful for owners seeking free practical advice relating to restoration or additions to heritage buildings, new buildings in heritage areas or new front fences, for example.

Heritage Advisor

A qualified conservation consultant/practitioner is employed to assist owners of heritage properties with responsible conservation. As noted, this is a free service.

By consulting the Advisor in conjunction with a planner early on, for example prior to lodging a planning permit, may result is a smoother and faster negotiation of the planning and building requirements.

View our Heritage and Design Guidelines.

You will be able to make an appointment to meet with a planning officer and the Heritage Advisor to obtain free heritage and planning advice.

To make an appointment please contact the Statutory Planning Department on 03 5272 4456.
