Thinking about running for council? Want to know more about what a councillor does?

We are holding a candidate information session on Monday 18 September 2017. Arrive at 6:15pm for a 6:30pm start at City Hall. Entry is via 57 Little Malop Street Geelong.

Anyone considering nominating for next month’s council election is welcome to attend and learn about what the role involves.

The session will cover:

  • overview of the City’s structure

  • the City’s purpose and values

  • a clever & creative future – our community-led 30-year vision

  • strategic planning framework

  • election information

  • key dates

  • the first six months

  • day to day role as a councillor

  • day to day role as a mayor.
