We have some very exciting news!

The new Geelong Heritage Centre and Geelong LibraryYes this is our new home at 49 Little Malop Street and it is opening very soon…

But that does mean that we have to close down our operation here on Wednesday 23 September 2015

How does this affect you?

All our normal Heritage Centre operations, including: access to our archive collection, use of our reading room resources, ordering images/scans of collection items and our normal research assistance will not be available until we reopen in our new home in mid/late November 2015. (Please note that the Geelong Library and Heritage Centre opening day/date will be announced very soon).

Then come and see us on Level 3 in the spectacular new Geelong Library and Heritage Centre.

Geelong Heritage Centre – Family and Local History

The Geelong Heritage Centre is Victoria’s largest regional archive. With 1.8km of public and private records, extensively described in catalogues and indexes, you are sure to find the information you need.

Staff and volunteers at the Heritage Centre preserve the collective memories of the Barwon Region’s people and places in the form of paper documents, books, photographs, film, and other artefacts.

Records produced by local government, businesses, clubs, societies, churches and individuals are made accessible for cultural enjoyment, education, family history, writing, publishing and administrative recall.
