The new Geelong Library and Heritage Centre will be a spectacular addition to Geelong’s architectural and cultural landscape. It will be a six-storey state-of-the-art facility with all the mod cons for today’s library user.

Benefits

  • Library visits are expected to increase by 400 per cent to reach one million visits per annum within five years of operation.
  • The project will create approximately 100 jobs during construction and an estimated 17 on-going jobs.
  • The new Geelong Library and Heritage Centre will form the largest single site for the Geelong Regional Library collection and services.
  • The new centre will incorporate the latest in information technology.
  • Provide a home for Geelong’s extensive heritage collection and provide an optimum environment for conservation of important historic artefacts and documents.
