The Geelong Arena is proudly owned and managed by the City of Greater Geelong and forms part thereof the Sport and Recreation - Sports Venues Department. The City of Greater Geelong purchased the Geelong Arena in 2003 and has developed the venue into a well known Sports and Entertainment venue within the region.
The Geelong Arena is the home to tenants inclusive of; Basketball Geelong, Elite Taekwondo, Geelong Gymnastics Centre,
Geelong Supercats, Kyokushin Arena Dojo and Total Events. In addition to tenants on site, the Geelong Arena Management team welcome
and offer a wide variety of sports and entertainment based events.

Based at The Arena in Victoria Street, North Geelong, Basketball Geelong offers competition seven days a week from ages 5 through to seniors in club, social and school competitions, along with an Aussie Hoops development program for children aged 5 and up.
Basketball Geelong has a direct link with the St Laurence Geelong Supercats, with 80% of players coming from the Basketball Geelong Development Program.
Basketball Geelong has representative teams in the Victorian Junior Basketball League and the Big V. Basketball Geelong is affiliated with Basketball Victoria and Basketball Australia.
Established in 1948, Basketball Geelong is Geelong's oldest and most successful basketball association.

Established in 1978 the St Laurence Geelong Supercats are the premier men's basketball team representing the Geelong region having previously played in the National Basketball League (NBL) for 15 years and 388 games. Since leaving the NBL in 1997, the Supercats have competed solely in the ABA, as part of the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL).
Over the last couple of seasons the Supercats have been particularly successful. In 1999 the Supercats won the South Conference final beating the Nunawading Spectres 82-81, before going on to win their 2nd ABA national championship by beating Kilsyth Cobras 98-78 in Canberra. In 2005, 2006 and 2007 the Supercats became SEABL East conference champions. In 2006 the club won its second ABA National club championship in less than 10 yrs when they defeated the Dandenong Rangers 94-80.

Beginners are always welcome at the Arena Dojo. Regardless of your age, sex, or current physical disposition, you can begin karate training and enjoy it.
Arena Dojo emphasises student self development and individual progress through rigorous training in Kihon (basic movements), Kata (patterns), Kumite (partner work & sparring), Kyokushin is an individual activity where students perform at their own level, yet the class operates as a group, with each member working not only to improve him or herself, but to assist the other members improve as well. This environment stimulates a healthy camaraderie and unity among our members.
Our instructors are all fully IKO certified (International Karate Organization).
