Word for Word: National Non-fiction Festival: Geelong

Word for Word National Non-fiction Festival: Geelong is Australia’s largest festival to showcase only non-fiction literature, writing and ideas.

Word for Word National Non-Fiction Festival is a festival of ideas, debate and conversation. Drawing on writers, thinkers and speakers from across the broad spectrum of academia, journalism, science, sport, politics and more.

The three-day program encourages audiences to venture beyond the known and step outside their comfort zone to engage in debate and discussion about the things that matter. Discover what lies beneath the surface.

From workshops to panel discussions, ‘in conversation’ sessions and keynote speakers, audiences from the Geelong region are sure to be engaged and inspired by the exciting sessions on offer.

Word for Word program features more than 70 presenters.

The program over the weekend features a wide variety of fascinating topics to be explored.

What's new?
This year, for the first time, the festival will feature acclaimed Australian songwriters and poets whose stories are drawn from lived experience. These stories are woven into their
narratives giving the works a strong sense of place and an authenticity derived from the clever combination of fiction and non-fiction.

Not to be missed:
Don't miss the rare opportunity to hear internationally-acclaimed and multi-award winning Australian author Peter Carey.
