Council elections

General Council elections are held every four years.

The next Council election is Saturday 28 October 2017. There was no Council election within the City of Greater Geelong for 2016 due to the appointment of Administrators.

Elections are run to ensure that we have the required number of Councillors under the Local Government Act.
