Report a Potential Property Fire Hazard

All observed potential fire hazards can be reported.

Before reporting a potential fire hazard it is important to know that all vacant land owners are sent a Courtesy Letter each year clearly instructing them as to when their blocks need to be cleared by. For the 2011/12 season, the required clearance dates are as follows:

North Zone: 30 October 2011 (all areas north of Aberdeen Street)
Central Zone: 14 November 2011 (south of Aberdeen Street & west of Whitehorse Rd Moolap)
East Zone: 5 December  2011 (east of Whitehorse Road)

The owners of land in these zones are given until the above dates to carry out fire prevention clearance works. As such if you wish to complain about a vacant block we will advise you that we are going to inspect these properties as part of our inspection process close to these dates.

If there is a house on the property we will ask our Fire Prevention staff to inspect the premises but we need the correct address for this to occur.

When you report this issue you will need to tell us:

  • Your name
  • Your contact details
  • The address of the property concerned

You can report this issue:
