Timehelp - Retirees in Schools
The City of Greater Geelong proudly supports Timehelp, community program that connects retirees and seniors as volunteers.
Timehelp is a community program that connects retirees and seniors as volunteers to projects of need in schools across the Geelong region.
You don’t need any special skills, just two spare hours a week and a desire to make a difference to young people. Timehelp will match your interests to a need in a local primary or secondary school. Activities including reading support, garden and grounds maintenance, assisting migrant and refugee children, creative arts and sports, helping in the office, subject tutoring and positive mentoring.
Volunteers receive pre-placement training, a complimentary uniform, regular newsletter and free social functions.
All volunteers must successfully apply for a Working With Children’s Check.
Timehelp is a partnership with the Alcoa Foundation and City of Greater Geelong that aims to deliver education, well-being and community benefits across the region. It has been operating since 2004.
