Half Cost Fencing on Council Reserves
We will contribute half the cost of erecting a new fence, or repairs to, an existing fence where a property abuts our land.
This includes parks, playgrounds, carparks and reserves etc.
Fencing that abuts a road, laneway, right-of-way, etc remains the full responsibility of the property owner.
Fencing Standards
We will agree to pay the cost of a standard paling fence to a height of 1.65 metres. This height may increase to 1.8 metres with a maximum of 1.95 metres with our approval.
However, if you wish to construct a fence higher than the standard height, you will be required to pay the cost difference between the standard height to the greater height.
We will also contribute half the cost of the demolition and removal of the existing fence.
Fencing Contractors
Fencing contractors carrying out these works must either be a preferred supplier or an existing approved contractor. These contractors must have supplied the required documentation to us.
You must obtain two (2) quotes from either our preferred suppliers or an existing approved contractor.
Gates
We must approve any pedestrian gates to be erected on a property boundary that abuts a Council reserve, ie park, playground, etc. Only a single pedestrian gate (maximum width of 1 metre) can be approved as there is to be no vehicle access at any time over our reserves.
Any costs involved with the erection of a gate shall be at the owner's expense.
Crown Land
Properties that abut recreational reserves that is Crown Land are not our responsibility. You will need to contact the Department of Sustainability and Environment.
