Travel on an incredible journey from the outer limits of the Milky Way, through our Solar System and into the very centre of planet Earth – all at the National Wool Museum!

The Museum is hosting the interactive exhibition Earth Quest – Outer Space to Inner Earth, which features engaging exhibits that cover topics such as astronomy, geology, geography, environmental science and biology.

Discover why we have seasons, how mountains are formed and how animals have adapted to life in different climates. Undertake some hands-on activities in the Experiment Zone and find out just what is at the centre of the Earth.

Developed by Questacon, The National Science and Technology Centre in Canberra, Earth Quest includes more than 30 interactive exhibits designed to spark the imagination of people of all ages.

City of Greater Geelong Portfolio Holder for Arts and Culture, Cr Barbara Abley said Earth Quest was the latest in the National Wool Museum’s very successful programme of touring exhibitions.

“The National Wool Museum continues to raise the bar in bringing engaging and informative exhibitions to the people of Geelong,” Cr Abley said.

“Exhibitions such as Eaten Alive –The World of Predators and the upcoming Toys – Science at Play, are teaching Geelong children that science can be fascinating and fun.

“Earth Quest is another such exhibition that is guaranteed to delight audiences while teaching important facts that cover eveything from the universe to our environment.”

A special education programme has been developed for primary and high school students, while a school holiday programme will be offered to entertain the family during the September school holidays. An Education Kit, including curriculum relevance and ideas for classroom activities, can be downloaded from www.nwm.vic.gov.au.
