The Potato Shed’s tremendously popular Morning Showtime season concludes its 2009 season next week with the Boo Hiss Victorian Melodrama A RUSSIAN BRIDE IN QUEENSCLIFFE.
Thousands of Geelong theatre lovers have enjoyed the 2009 Morning Showtime season, which this year has featured seven shows by performers such as the Australian Army Band, Bay City Conchords and Drop of a Hat Productions.
The team at Drop of a Hat will bring the season to a close with A RUSSIAN BRIDE IN QUEENSCLIFFE, a brand new Christmas melodrama featuring mysterious foreigners, dastardly villains, Victorian-era tunes and plenty of Christmas cheer.
It’s Christmas 1909 and Queenscliffe is in turmoil. The mayor is holding his annual choir competition, a con-man is trying to sell shares in the new railway line between Queenscliffe and Drysdale and a beautiful foreigner arrives in town announcing that she is the Russian bride of widower Alfred Hitchcock.
Boo the villain, cheer the hero and sing along to some of your old favourite tunes as the plot twists and turns in true Victorian melodrama tradition.
And don’t forget the famous Morning Showtime morning tea, which is included in your ticket price.
