The annual SKAART festival is here again, with young people invited to Windsor Park in Norlane between 11am-4pm this Sunday 15 November for free entertainment and activities.
The event will include live music, a jumping castle, temporary tattoos, rock climbing walls, art activities as well as skate, BMX and scooter comps.
Corio Ward Councillor Kylie Fisher said that people attending the event can register for free food and drink vouchers.
“This is going to be another fantastic event for young people and the wider community,” she said.
“Congratulations to the SKAART youth action team for once again organising this fun and exciting event.”
“It seems to get bigger every year – skate competitions, giant slides and badge making are just some of the activities you can enjoy this year.”
“There will also be ‘Box and Bounce’, which is boxing with giant gloves in an inflatable boxing ring – I hear it is very funny to watch!”
“Now in it’s fifth year, SKAART is definitely a highlight on the northern suburbs’ calendar – I’m sure there are plenty of young people looking forward to this weekend even more than usual.”
“This event has been a real success; it’s a testament to what young people can achieve when they put their effort into something positive and fun for the community,” Cr Fisher said.
SKAART is a partnership involving the City of Greater Geelong, Corio Norlane Neighbourhood Renewal, North Shore Primary School, Norlane Neighbourhood House, Head Space, North Shore Sports and Community Club and supported by a number of agencies.
