Anzac Day Marches and Commemorative Services
ANZAC Day marks the anniversary of Australian and New Zealand forces landing at Gallipoli. This was the first battle our ANZACS took part in World War 1.
25 April is the day we remember the sacrifice of those who fought in the First World War and all wars. Ex-servicemen and women will march at the following marches or attend commemorative ceremonies held at war memorials, or RSL branches within Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula.
Members of the public that wish to lay wreaths may do so after the official wreath laying ceremony.
A Pre Dawn Service will take place at the Peace Memorial, Johnstone Park at 4.15am.
Boer War Memorial, corner of Kilgour Street and Latrobe Terrace, A Coy 8/7 RVR Australian Army will provide a Commemorative Service at 6:30am.
The Geelong ANZAC Day Parade will commence on Malop Street outside Office Works at 11:00am and proceed along Malop Street, left into Gheringhap Street and concludes in Johnstone Park for a Commemorative Service.
The Ocean Grove ANZAC Day March commences from the corner of The Terrace and Presidents Ave at 10:45am, proceeds along the Terrace and concludes at the Cenotaph, Hodgson Street for a Commemorative Service.
The Barwon Heads ANZAC Day March commences from the corner of Hitchcock Ave and Bridge Road at 10:00am, proceeds along Hitchcock Ave and concludes at the Barwon Heads RSL for a wreath laying ceremony.
The Norlane ANZAC Day March commences in the service lane of Melbourne Road and Sparks Road at 9:30am, and concludes at approximately 9:45am. A wreath laying ceremony will take place at the Norlane RSL Sub Branch, Rose Ave at approximately 9:50am
Road closures will be implemented along the various parade routes
