Cr John Doull
Represents: Coryule Ward
Elected to the City of Greater Geelong Council in November 2008, Cr John Doull represents the Coryule Ward which includes Clifton Springs, Indented Head, Portarlington, St Leonards and Northern Rural Bellarine.
Cr Doull lives in Portarlington and has been a Bellarine Peninsula resident for the past 14 years. He served as a Councillor at the Borough of Queenscliffe from 2004 - 2008, where he represented the Borough on the Queenscliffe Music Festival, Heritage and Finance/Audit Committees. During his term he was involved in various community groups that focused on a variety of issues including Reconciliation and Climate Change.
In 2006 he was elected to the Victorian Local Government Association (VLGA) Board, a peak body which recognises the value of community involvement in creating sustainable futures. In May 2011, Cr Doull was elected as Chairman of the Association of Bayside Municipalities for 2011-2011.
Cr Doull is a qualified pilot and flying instructor, who also studied building (project management) at RMIT and worked for a high profile architect in Melbourne. His hobbies include bushwalking, flying in outback Australia, alternative Australian music, art house films, theatre and collecting books.
He holds the portfolio for Climate Change and Environment & Sustainability and represents the City on committees including:
