Council Elections

Council elections are held every four years.

Elections are run to ensure that we have the required number of Councillors under the Local Government Act.

Elections are conducted by the Victorian Electoral Commission.


Election Dates

General elections for the City of Greater Geelong were last held in November 2008.

The next election will be held on Saturday 27 October 2012.

Details are published by the Victorian Electoral Commission.


By-Elections

By-elections occur when a councillor resigns from their elected ward.
