Guidelines for story contributors:

Do you have a story relating to a particular locality within the Geelong region? Your story could relate to a period long ago or to recent times, but all stories must relate to a specific locality or place. Written stories should be no more than 500 words in length. You can also attach up to three images to accompany your story. Please send images in JPEG format with each attachment being no more than 1MB in size. Your story and images will be processed for presentation within the Memory section of the Connecting Identities web site.

Please tick the box above to confirm your acceptance of the following terms and conditions in relation to stories contributed to the Connecting Identities web site:

  • Stories and images submitted to the Connecting Identities web site will be vetted by the City of Greater Geelong to ensure that content is appropriate for public exhibition;
  • Stories may be edited for the purpose of clarity and brevity, particularly if submitted stories are more than 500 words in length;
  • Story contributors attest that the submitted story is their own original work and is not copied or plagiarised from another source and that any submitted story does not infringe the copyright or ownership of any other party;
  • Contributor's attest that submitted images are their own original work or else are freely provided from another source with permission for use within the Connecting Identities web site.
  • Copyright in relation to submitted stories and images is retained by the author(s) or creator(s) of the story and images but that, in submitting a story to the Connecting Identities web site, the author(s) or creator(s) grant to the City of Greater Geelong a non-exclusive perpetual license to reproduce the submitted material within the web site and in any other material that may be produced in order to promote the Connecting Identities project.
