M~M invites people of all ages and abilities to walk this land and discover Geelong...
M~M2014 is an astounding original 24-hour 'extreme arts' pilgrimage - an 85km biennial journey in 12 stages that creates a contemporary Songline across the municipality of Geelong, Victoria, Australia.
Beginning at Big Rock on the You Yangs Mountain range, M~M journeys across grasslands, industrial nightscapes, the city centre, rural landscapes and beaches, to finish at dusk at the Mouth of the Barwon River the next day.
An M~M2014 passport is stamped at each of 12 Resting Stations along the way, as a memento of the journey.
Local produce and arts will feature along the pathway.
Alternatively the procession of walkers can be watched on the big screen at Geelong's Waterfront. Artist activated exhibitions, extreme arts and extreme sports can also be enjoyed in Central Geelong, as the city comes alive with Geelong After Dark on Friday evening. The walk will rest at 11pm before starting again at dawn the next morning.
M~M2014 is time to walk this land. It is an ideal workplace relay, or an opportunity for competitive walkers to achieve all 85 kms in 24 hours.
Funds raised go to the Karingal Foundation to propagate provenance specific indigenous plants for the M~M pathway.
M~M acknowledges Wadawurrung Traditional Owners of this land and all Aboriginal and Torres Islander People who are part of the Greater Geelong community today.
