The fOrT
(fun Opportunities recreation Transend)
Located at the old Tourist Information Centre, Stead Park, Corio.
The fOrT is a youth centre in the northern suburbs of Geelong. A free activity-based program, provides a safe space for young people to relax, socialise and interact with other young people in the community.
The fOrT provides important infrastructure to help build community spirit amongst young people and to foster their strength of character and purpose.
The fOrT offers high quality activities, development and support services for young people in the Northern Suburbs of Geelong and the surrounding areas. Young people can try new activities, develop their skills in a particular area and socialise in a welcoming and friendly environment. Activities for 12 – 25 year olds take place year round and include regular weekly classes, one-off workshops and long-term projects and events.
Resident youth workers and professional workshop instructors run activities, passing on their skills and experience in order to assist young people to achieve.
On site youth workers play an important role in consulting and engaging with young people at the fOrT. Regular contact gives young people a chance to have their say in what happens at the centre. The programme is guided by what young people want in addition to introducing them to new and innovative programs.

Schools and community groups can book the fOrT for their activity and recreation programs, personal development and reflection days, events or meetings.

What you would like to see happening for young people in your community? The fOrT provides an opportunity to work collaboratively to develop a range of projects by young people, for young people. Turn ideas into action and assist others in the community! The fOrT has run committees for events, theatre and festivals. The fOrT has a roster of community services offering support for young people in the areas of outreach, employment, housing, mental health and more.
The team at the fOrT are always coming up with new and interesting things to do and we would like your input on classes, activities and events to run.
