Mountain to Mouth 2014 -

Walk this way and join the journey!

Mountain to Mouth (M~M2014) is a 24hr 'extreme arts' walk from the top of the You Yangs to the mouth of the Barwon River.

It's a time to discover the unique landscape of your region and be part of an adventurous arts experience. The journey starts mid afternoon on Friday 9 May at You Yangs Big Rock and finishes at dusk on Saturday 10 May at the mouth of the Barwon River.

City of Greater Geelong has introduced free parking on Saturday and Sunday permanently in Central Geelong.

Unite Geelong aims to build a prosperous and sustainable future for the Geelong community, with a focus on youth from low- socio economic backgrounds or those who are disengaged from mainstream schooling.


Illegal dumping is a crime

Illegally dumped rubbish is estimated to cost our community more than $250,000 to clean up every year. That's money that is no longer available for playgrounds, parks or community services.

Children Centres in development

With the recent opening of the state-of-the-art Boorai Centre at Ocean Grove, there are now four children's centres in various stages of development. All are due to open for the start of the 2015 school year.

Major excavation underway for new library

Work on Geelong’s landmark library and heritage building is well underway.
A major excavation is taking place at the Malop Street site to prepare for the pouring of the concrete for the basement level.

Stead park - Home of hockey

Stead Park will be known as the Geelong Regional Hockey Centre once a new $1.8 million synthetic pitch is installed by the end of July.
Stead Park is home to the Geelong Hockey Association and is the region’s main hockey facility.

Grassy woodlands in Geelong's west

Council is working with landholders to reduce threats to grassy woodland ecosystems on properties to the west of Geelong.

Life changing help is at hand in the latest Sustainability Directory.

Environment Portfolio Councillor Andy Richards said the Sustainability Directory was developed by the Geelong Sustainability Group.
