Safe City Cameras and Nightlife Radios

Our system of safe city cameras and nightlife radios aims to strengthen safety in central Geelong.

32 close circuit TV (CCTV) surveillance cameras are installed in central Geelong to promote safety.

The cameras operate in areas where anti-social behaviour or criminal activity are more likely to occur.

The cameras are linked to a control centre.

Signs have been placed in areas where acitivity is being monitored and all vision is recorded.

The program aims to:
  • provide a safer environment
  • reduce crime levels by deterring potential offenders
  • assist in active intervention; and
  • assist in crime detection.
