Public transport in Geelong

Getting around Geelong is easy thanks to the compact city design and network of public transport.


A fast commuter rail service travels to andfrom Geelong.

The Geelong Station serves passengers travelling by V/line train or bus to and from the following locations:

  • Marshall and South Geelong

  • North Geelong, North Shore, Corio and Lara

  • Melbourne and Werribee

  • Warrnambool, Port Fairy and Mount Gambier

  • Bannockburn, Meredith, Buninyong and Ballarat

Train is also a good way to travel within Geelong between Lara, Corio, North Shore, North Geelong, South Geelong and Marshall.

Air travel

Avalon Airport is 20 kilometres from Geelong CBD.

Avalon Airport Shuttle bus service meets every incoming and outgoing flight andprovides transport between Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast.

Melbourne Airport is approx 70km from Geelong.

Gull Airport Services provides transport between Geelong and Melbourne Airport.
