School Holiday Program 

The City of Greater Geelong School Holiday Program is a childcare service for children currently attending Primary School.


The School Holiday Program offers a range of activities, experiences and excursions appropriate for primary school aged children, including children with additional needs.

The program is accredited with the National Childcare Accreditation Council (NCAC) and Child Care Benefit (CCB) is available for fee reduction.

Our school holiday program aims to provide fun and educational activities and events for primary school aged children to participate in over the holidays.

That our school holiday activities, experiences and excursions are safe, fun and educational for your children. This is a nationally accredited service and we adhere to all appropriate processes and procedures.

School Holiday Program - Do I need to provide lunch for my child?
Yes. Pack their bag as you would any other school day with morning tea, lunch and any other snacks you feel they may need to maintain their energy levels for the day. All children also need to bring with them a refillable water bottle and a sun smart hat.

School Holiday Program - How do I pay?
School Holiday Program payments a can be made at any Customer Service Centre.

Alternatively credit card payments can also be taken over the phone by calling Customer Service on 5272 5272.

School Holiday program - How much does it cost?
The cost is $45 per child per day minus child care benefit (CCB).

To find out your CCB entitlement contact the FAO on 136 150.

Excursion days incur an extra cost.

School Holiday Program - What are the opening hours?
The program operates from 8am - 6pm Monday - Friday for 2 weeks during term 1, 2 and 3 holidays and 3 weeks of the term 4 Summer holidays.

School Holiday Program - What are the staff to child ratios?
All programs abide by children's services regulations with a ratio of 1 staff : 15 children with always a minimum of 2 staff present.

Extra staff are also rostered to ensure the inclusion of children with additional needs.

On excursions to maintain our supervision standards we promote a ratio of 1 staff: 8 children and 1 staff: 5 children when participating in water activities.

School Holiday Program - What if I need to change my booking?
Bookings can be altered free of charge up until 1 week before the commencement of the school holiday program. After this date we operate on a booked care system and all days that are booked must be paid for. If your position can be filled by a family on the waiting list you may be refunded.

School Holiday Program - What sort of activities do the children do?
The program is flexible catering to the needs and interests of the children attending therefore a variety of activities are on offer everyday. Some activities include art and craft, sports, cooking, dramatic play, science experiments and free time for children to chose their own activities.
