Description
BellPark is a popular residential suburb with an abundance of community, sporting and educational facilities. It is also home to the 18-hole Geelong Golf Club and the Grace McKellar Centre for Rehabilitation and Extended Care. Both are on Ballarat Road in the south of the suburb.

Bell Park is well-served educationally, with two secondary schools and three primary schools. There is also a community library operating from the North Geelong Secondary College. Hume Reserve adjoins the college and is a major soccer centre.

History
The suburb was named after the Bell Park homestead, built by early settler John Bell. Part of that homestead is preserved in buildings at the Grace McKellar Centre for Rehabilitation and Extended Care.

The residential settlement ofBell Park began in the 1950s, and many new settlers were post-war European migrants. Two of the larger groups were Croatians and Italians. Many built make-do bungalows until they were able to build houses.
