The Geelong Waterfront and Eastern Beach are public land and available for use by all residents and visitors in accordance with Council Local Laws. The community is encouraged to visit the facilities and hold family gatherings, weddings, barbecues, work functions or Christmas parties.

Permission is not required from Council to hold a function unless you wish to have exclusive use of a particular area, using a marquee or require vehicle access in to the Waterfront or Eastern Beach reserves. If permission is required an Event Application Form must be submitted to Council for consideration. Fees may apply depending on the nature of the event and the impact on other visitors. 

The Carousel is also available for private functions (For further information contact The Carousel on 03 5224 1547 or carousel@geelongcity.vic.gov.au).

Filming and Photography
The Geelong Waterfront and Eastern Beach provides a fantastic location for photography and filming. General tourist type photography and filming for non commercial use is encouraged and can be undertaken without permission from Council.

If a professional photographic shoot or filming is to be undertaken on the Waterfront or Eastern Beach an Event Application Form must be submitted to Council. It should be noted that the likes of the Baywalk Bollards are protected by Copyright.
