The National Wool Museum is the site for an exciting Opening Event to launch Memory Bank - a part of the Connecting Identities project.
Award winning digital filmmaker, Malcolm McKinnon, has for the past six months been gathering stories from across the Geelong region. Together with exhibition material and anecdotes collected along the way, Memory Bank will form a multi-media collection of people's stories reflecting their personal connections to Geelong localities.
Artist Glenn Romanis has been commissioned to install a bird's-eye view of Geelong in sand, stone and wood that will be a unique feature of the Memory Bank exhibition. Sculptors Julie Shaw, Victoria Edgar and Mark Trinham have been working in Barwon Heads, Botanic Gardens and Corio/Norlane to create iconic images to add to the map of Geelong.
The exhibition runs from 24 July - 7 September.
It promises to be a memorable event not to be missed!
