Resource Recovery Centres and Landfill sites

Drysdale Resource Recovery Centre and Landfill
The Drysdale Resource Recovery Centre and Landfill in Murradoc Road is the only landfill site open to the public.  The new Resource Recovery Centre means that you no longer need to travel to the landfill face to dispose of your waste.  The centre also helps the environment by diverting as much recyclable material as possible from landfill.

Operating Hours
8.00am - 4.15pm seven days except Good Friday, Anzac Day and Christmas Day.

Litter bins
All litter bins located in front of shopping centres, bus stops, parks and reserves are collected by City of Greater Geelong staff.  Any queries regarding this service can be directed to 5227 0270.

A City contractor collects all residential bins including recycling and green waste. Any queries regarding this service can be directed to 5227 0270.

Dumped Litter
Unfortunately dumped litter has become a problem in recent times, particularly in terms of the significant cost imposed on the City to dispose of this litter as crews are re-deployed away from their normal day to day duties.

Infrastructure Operations staff will collect litter from sites where it has been illegally dumped - unless an owner can be found.  Residents are encouraged to notify the Local Laws department if details of who dumped the rubbish can be obtained for prosecution purposes.  Just call 5227 0270.
