Print View

The Strategy has been prepared by Parsons Brinckerhoff on behalf of the City of Greater Geelong and represents a major review of the 1997 Rural Land Use Strategy. The Strategy has been developed following a review of existing state and local planning policies including the Bellarine Peninsula Strategic Plan, Environment Management Strategy and Coastal Spaces recommendations, data collection and analysis and targeted consultation with key stakeholders.

The Strategy identifies key directions in relation to the application of the State Government's new Rural Zones and includes planning policies for animal keeping and training, dwellings and subdivisions, and tourism development in rural areas. The reviewed Strategy was adopted on the 8 May, 2007.
