In developing the Bellarine Peninsula Strategic Plan 2006 -2016 all towns and the rural area conducted community surveys. These surveys are intended to provide an insight into the local communities that goes beyond data that normally would be collected.

In total 2,175 survey responses were received back from the communities. The data collected from the community survey reflects the views of respondents to individual questions and should be seen as an additional collection of information that helps us understand why people live, work and play on the Bellarine Peninsula.

The following table gives an overview of the number of respondents per township and rural area.
