Barwon Heads Structure Plan 2007

The Barwon Heads Structure Plan was adopted by Council on 11 December 2007. It establishes a strategic framework to guide the growth and development of Barwon Heads over a ten to fifteen year period.

The Structure Plan has been prepared by the City of Greater Geelong and represents a major review of the 1996 Structure Plan. The updated Structure Plan identifies key directions in relation to the future development and growth of Barwon Heads including establishing a settlement boundary, identifying areas for rezoning and identifying issues requiring further assessment.

The Structure Plan can be downloaded using the following link:

Council will now commence the Planning Scheme Amendment process to include the adopted Structure Plan in the Planning Scheme.

This formal Amendment process will provide a further opportunity to make submissions to the Structure Plan and also make presentations to an Independent Panel, prior to final approval by Council and presentation to the Minister for Planning.
