July 2007
Work is progressing on all three phases of the project, as outlined below.
Heritage Conservation Assessment
The Draft Heritage Conservation Assessment report was submitted to Council some time ago. It is currently being revised by the consultants with a view to having the entire report available for review on the website by the end of July. In the interim, the Preliminary Draft Statement of Significance and accompanying maps have been placed on this web page for public review. The Statement of Significance is an important part of the overall Heritage Conservation Assessment.
Master Plan
A preliminary draft of the Master Plan was issued to Council in mid-June. The preliminary draft comprised a report and accompanying drawings. Information included with the preliminary draft included a comprehensive analysis of existing conditions, a summary of the various consultation processes, list of identified issues, key design principles and an illustrative master plan.
Council and the consultants are now working together to revise the Master Plan, with a view to having a Draft Master Plan available on the website for public review by the end of August.
Management Plan
Work is well underway on the preparation of the Draft Management Plan, with the consultant team working closely with Council on a series of reports which together will form the Draft Management Plan. These reports include individual management plans for traffic, risk, wildlife, park events and trees, along with a Conservation Policy and a costed and prioritised Implementation Plan.
The Draft Management Plan is due to be issued to Council in early August, and will be available for public review sometime thereafter.
