Safe Uses of Greywater
'Greywater' is the wastewater produced from household bathrooms and laundries. 'Blackwater' is the water generated from toilets and should not be used for garden watering.
Greywater can be used on lawns and gardens during periods of drought, but because it may contain bacteria and chemicals, it is important that greywater is used in a safe manner. The Victorian Government and the Alternative Technology Association have developed a brochure that outlines the appropriate uses of greywater.
