Site 7 - Swan Bay

Swanbay predominantly consists of marshlands along the foreshore, in particular, around Swan Bay Jetty.  These areas are affected by tidal activity and/or stormwater events, which have potential to breed large numbers of mosquitoes that will migrate towards the townships of St Leonards, Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff.  Therefore the monitoring and treatment of Swan Bay, takes into account the impact that this area has on these nearby townships.  Due to the location of the marshlands, aerial treatment can be effectively carried out, with little impact on surrounding areas.
