Sites 12 - Limeburners and Site 13 - Lara

Limeburners is an area that consists of a number of small wetlands around Geelong Grammer School and Limeburners Yacht Club, heading north towards Lara.  These wetlands are affected by tidal and rainfall activity and are monitored and treated on a regular basis.

The mosquito breeding sites that impact on Lara, include the Hovells Creek marshes as well as open drains, easements and pits throughout the township.  These drains are monitored very early in the season, with most treated with a slow release product, which like the other products used by the City, only affects mosquito larvae and has no impact on the surrounding environment.
