The Occupational Health and Safety (Asbestos) Regulations 2003 aim to prevent asbestos related disease among employees processing or handling asbestos in workplace. These regulations only apply to workplace situations.

The Victorian Work Cover Authority Website www.workcover.vic.gov.au provides information on asbestos including a list of approved analysts to identify asbestos types in bulk samples and a list of approved asbestos removalists.
