Integrated Community Fire Management Plan
The purpose of this document is to chart the planned and co-ordinated implementation of measures that will minimise the occurrence, and mitigate the effect, of bushfire, grassfires, residential and industrial fires on the community. This Fire Management Planning document identifies long-term objectives and approaches to managing fire risk in the most critical areas of concern. This strategy also identifies actions that can be taken immediately that will contribute to community safety.

Infrastructure administers the operation and maintenance of the City of Greater Geelong After Hours Emergency Service. The service operates 24/7, 365 days per year with representation from the following sections of Council:
- Operations
- Local Laws
- Facilities Maintenance (Council buildings etc)
- Aged and Disability Services
- Environmental Health (Health surveyor)
- Building Department (Building surveyor)

When a call is lodged with Council's service provider a determination is made then whether the request requires urgent attention or can wait until the next working day based on a pre-determined criteria supplied by Council to the service carrier. However, it should be noted that where doubt arises the call will be placed through to the relevant service Duty Officer.
An electronic message is sent to the respective Duty Officer who initially is given 5 minutes to acknowledge that they have received the call otherwise the message is resent. Contact will be made with the resident as soon as practicable given the workload of the Duty Officer at any given time.
Residents are asked to be please be patient, particularly during strong winds or heavy rain as many requests are received by the Duty Officer who may have crews called in to help with the amount of work being received.
