Geelong Record Series Catalogue

The Centre holds a vast range of original archive records related to Geelong and District historical activity from 1838. These archives are stored and managed as the Geelong Record Series and comprise thousands of individual items.

The Series catalogue is in two parts, a general list and an item list. The general list is shown on this site and comprises an alphabetical register showing series title and number, description of contents and date range. The item list is available for consultation in the main Reading Room of the Centre.

Microform and CDROM Catalogue

The Centre has accumulated an extensive range of resources on microfilm, microfiche and CDRoms. These resources comprise the heavily used items from the Record Series and resources purchased from other research libraries, government agencies, State Libraries, genealogical societies and historical publishers and distributors.

These films, fiche and CDROMs are stored in the main Reading Room on open access in cabinets and trays. There are 19 reading machines and multiple copies of the most used records so that queuing and waiting can be avoided at most times. There are two reader/printer machines available to produce hard copy output at a nominal cost.
