Youth Week kicks off in the City of Greater Geelong on Monday 31 March with skate and art activities and a Guitar Hero competition.
An explanation for the not-so-youthful: Guitar Hero is a popular XBox game where participants play an Xbox-style simulated guitar and are scored on their ability to strum a tune.
Youth Week will culminate in a fun surf, skate, art and music event on Sunday 6 April at Ocean Grove Beach. Now in its fifth year, Get on Board Day continues to attract hundreds of young people.
"We're taking Youth Week activities around the region so that all young people can take part," the City's Youth portfolio holder Cr Jan Farrell said.
"The City's YouthCAN Van and portable skate ramps will be appearing at many locations and all the activities and entertainment are free."
"A lot of the Youth Development Unit's facilities are portable so that we can take them out into our region's many communities."
"I encourage all young people to take advantage of the free activities and entertainment on offer during the week."
