Descpription: A fireworks spectacular will signal the arrival of 2008 in grand style around Geelong's Waterfront. Corio Bay and the foreshore will be lit up at midnight. Grab a good vantage position around Western Beach, Eastern Beach or up at Eastern Park. 

Parents and pet owners - please be minful of the impact of the fireworks on small children and pets.

New Year on the Waterfront Festival is proudly supported by Geelong Major Events.

Description: Steampacket Place on Geelong's Waterfront is guaranteed to be the place to play on New Year's Day with activities for all ages. And best of all, the fun is free! The day caters to the whole family through the wide variety of main stage entertainment, roving activities and stalls.

Geelong's annual FREE family fun day is back and bursting with a large range of new activities for mums, dads and kids alike.  There's the Bunning's Interactive Kids Workshop, kids talent contest,  FREE new rides,  roaming entertainment and don't miss out on the feature performance by the Hooley Dooley's!

Ducks 

Activities on the day include:
> Bunning's interactive kids workshop
> Loads of carnival rides
> Goldpin bowling
> Giveaways
> And lot's lot's more!!

Crowd favourites will also return:
> Kids petting zoo and reptile farm
> Market stalls
> Face painting
> Mascots

There will also be loads of competitions including the The Music Workshop Kids Talent Contest, Kids Drawing Competition, kids relay, best dressed pet to mention a few!

The event is supported by the City of Greater Geelong and other event partners including: ANZ, K-Rock and the Geelong Times, The Good Guys, St. Laurence, SPC, Westfield Baycity, Coke Cola, Ross Park's the Good Guys, Fenix Fitness Clubs, Music Workshop, Village, GFC, Supercats, Coca-Cola, Black Sheep Café.

The event's activities will stretch from Steampacket Place to the area in front of the Carousel and Quay Promenade.
