The Princes Highway traverses through Geelong from Melbourne in the north east and to Warrnambool via Colac in the west. The Hamilton and Midland Highways link Geelong to the north and west. The Surf Coast Highway is the gateway to the Great Ocean Road, and the Bellarine Peninsula is well connected via a network of roads.
The Bellarine Highway leads to Queenscliff. From here vehicles and passengers can travel by ferry to Mornington Peninsula and Eastern Victoria. Ferries leave on the hour every hour from 7.00am to 6.00pm, seven days a week in all weather.
The upgraded six-lane Princes Freeway between Melbourne and Geelong makes the 50-minute journey a breeze. Geelong is also connected to Melbourne Airport via the Western Ring Road, an 80-minute journey.
The City Link expressway also connects the Princess Freeway to Melbourne Airport as well as Melbourne's south and south-eastern suburbs. Travel on City Link expressway incurs a toll, which is paid electronically.
