2008 GENERAL ELECTION

The next General Election for the City of Greater Geelong will be held in November 2008, at which all Councillor positions will be decided for a four year term.  The official date of the election is Saturday, 29 November 2008, however as it will be a postal election conducted by the Victorian Electoral Commission postal ballots close at 6.00pm on Friday, 28 November 2008.     All voters will receive their ballot papers in the mail commencing Monday, 10 November 2008.

KEY DATES
26 September	Voters Roll available for inspection.
3 October	Final day to be included on voters roll.
20 October	Candidate Information Session 20 October 08 (PDF-12KB)
23 October	Nominations for Council open.
28 October	Nominations close.
10  November	Mailout of Ballot Packs commence.
28 November	Close of Voting 6.00 p.m.
29 November	Counting of votes. Declaration of results as soon as possible after Sunday 30 November 2008.
