Cr Rod Macdonald represents the Cheetham Ward, which includes the townships of Leopold, Moolap and parts of Whittington, Newcomb and St Albans Park. He has lived within the current ward area for over 19 years. Rod is active in the local community and understands the issues affecting his Ward.
Cr Macdonald is a strong advocate for residents and is working to ensure their concerns and aspirations are communicated to Council.

Significant achievements during Rod's current term of office include the Moolap drainage upgrade, the stormwater harvesting project at Memorial Park Leopold, and new Netball Clubrooms at Grinter Reserve Newcomb. The new Leopold Structure Plan and its important role in the future growth of the town is also a key achievement.
Rod also has a strong commitment to the development of new industry and emerging business opportunities within our region. He is working with all levels of government, private industry and local educational institutions to maximise the opportunities for the future of our city.
Cr Macdonald holds Council's Portfolio for Planning and shares responsibility for the Economic and Strategic Development Portfolios. He also represents the City on numerous committees such as:
