Beangala is the name of the homeland of the Bengali Clan of the Wathaurong Tribe.

Beangala Ward is on the Bellarine Peninsula and includes the townships of St Leonards and Ocean Grove, the area of Point Lonsdale that lies west of Fellows Road, as well as the rural areas of Wallington and Mannerim.

Beangala Ward is bounded by the Barwon River, Bawtree Road, Bellarine Highway, Banks Road, Bellarine Peninsula Railway, Andersons Road, Portarlington/Queenscliff Road, Coatsworth Road, Harvey Road, Ibbotson Street, State Nature Reserve, Port Phillip Bay, the City boundary with Queenscliff and Bass Strait.
